Your applications can be trapped inside a nonfunctioning Windows installation
A PDF may usually open in Acrobat. A presentation may depend on PowerPoint. Photos, ebooks, comics, music and movies each have their own associated Windows applications. When Windows will not start, those applications are inaccessible—even if the files themselves can still be read.
Recovering a file is only half the job. You also need a working way to inspect it.
Ashington OS supplies the browser. UR Viewer Web supplies the workspace.
Once Ashington OS connects to the internet, it can open UR Viewer Web in a clean, functioning browser. Select a compatible local file and use one Viewer for supported PDFs, ebooks, comics, images, presentations, text, audio and video.
The Viewer loads online. The selected file stays local.
The UR Viewer Web application is delivered to the browser over the internet. After it loads, the browser reads and renders the compatible file you select. That file is not uploaded to a UR Suite server.
This makes the Viewer especially useful for personal photos, business documents, medical PDFs, ebooks and other files you do not want to send to a remote conversion service merely to inspect.
Open Files requires an internet connection.
UR Viewer Web must load from the internet before a file can be opened. If Ashington OS is not already connected, Open Files first presents Network & Wi-Fi, then launches the Viewer after connectivity is established.
The network is used to deliver the Viewer application. The compatible local file you subsequently choose remains on the computer and is processed by the browser.
